Project Spotlight
Project Remodel | Guest House
Client Objective
Client’s sought to add an attached guest casita to their existing home in Scottsdale. They wanted to have a “Desert Zen” retreat for their house guests. After working with their Architect, Steve Judge, they came up with a plan to have a small kitchen, medium size living room with large windows for lots of natural light. Most importantly they wanted the casita look seamless with the existing house, not like an addition.
Details
Our client’s picked out all the design elements themselves with guidance from Team PhD. One of the most important aspects to their style was the flooring and it being the focal point. They used Mystic River, a filled and honed natural Travertine, that has a calming flow in the veining after being installed on a diagonal. They also selected many other unique finishes like the “leathered textured” Ironside Quartzite counter top and the teakwood backsplash at the kitchenette . In the bathroom shower and vanity backsplash they chose a unique stone, metal, glass decorative mosaic tile.
Happy Clients
The project did extend longer than our projected timeline, however through good communication and great workmanship we were able to deliver a beautiful casita for our clients. Currently we are working on a new “Modern Contemporary” powder bath for them in the main house. With anticipation we should have some great photos in the near future!
